Note: Hello Ole, Hello Ole, I have not had much time for genealogy lately. You had asked for more information about my great-great-grandmother Mathilde Marie Lorentzdatter. She lived much of her life at the mill in Aså, Dronninglund, Hjørring, in Denmark. She was born there, and was baptized 26 Jan 1847 in Dronninglund, Dronninglund, Hjørring. Her mother was Marthe Marie Pedersdatter, who was not married to her father Lorenz Carstens. Marthe Marie Pedersdatter seems to have been raised by her grandparents, at the mill farm. From the census records: 1834 census 1845 census 1850 census 1851 marriage Here is Mathilde Marie Lorentzdatter and her family in the 1860 census: Hjørring, Børglum, Øster Brønderslev, Ø. Brønderslev Kjær, , , 109 F2, FT-1860 I have no record of this family anywhere in the 1870 census. 1876 May 17 Mathilde Marie Lorenzen married Christian Peter Poulsen in Aalborg (Vor Frue). 1880 census: 1890 census Mathilde Marie died 26 Aug 1916, and was buried 1 Sep 1916 Vor Frelsers Sogn, Aalborg. I do not believe there is a gravestone, but would be interested to find out. Her daughter Ane Marie Poulsen (Anna Marie) was a mystery to our family for many many years. My grandfather, her son, was fostered by a family in Nørresundby. We do not know the name of his father. My grandfather Poul Robert Verner Poulsen did, but only shared it once, and my father no longer remembers. She had two other children (no father named) - Poula Jorga Mathilde Poulsen May 1906 - Oct 1906, and Carl Ewald Poulsen born Oct 1910. I do not know what happened to Ane Marie Poulsen or Carl after 1910. Would you have any knowledge about fostering records in Aalborg amt? I would like to find out if there would be any records in Aalborg or Nørresundby for my grandfather, Poul Robert Werner Poulsen. He was born May 1908 and was fostered by a family named Bach Nørresundby (the head of the family was Peder Justesen Bach, son Julius). Regards, |
